Greene County, NC Courthouse
September 11, 1883, James A. Davis applied for a Marriage License for 
Cornelius Davis and Lourena Stocks, both of Greene Co. Cornelius Davis, age 
23, white, was son of Jesse T. Davis and Martha Davis, both living residents 
of Greene Co. Lourena Stocks, age 18, white, was daughter of Charles and Jane 
Stocks, both living in Greene Co. They were married September 12, 1883, by H. 
C. Hart, Minister of Christ Church, at the residence of Charles Stocks in Olds 
Township in Greene Co. 

Witnesses were: Jas. A. Davis, J. L. Walls, and Levy Faulkner, all of Greene 
Co.
