Greene County, NC Courthouse
February 10, 1880, Jas. A. Davis applied for a Marriage License for Cornelius 
Davis and Fannie Wingate, both of Greene Co. Cornelius Davis, age 20, white, 
was son of Jesse T. Davis and Martha Davis, both living, and both of Greene 
Co. Fannie Wingate, age 19, white, was daughter of Henry Wingate, living, and 
Caroline Wingate, dead, both of Pitt Co. They were married on February 10, 
1880 by J. M. Barfield, Free Will Baptist Minister, at the home of Jas. A. 
Davis in the Olds Township. 

Witnesses were: Jesse W. Hardy, James K. Hardy, and James R. May, all of 
Greene Co.
