COX I Sanders P. Cox of the County of Greene and State of North Carolina being in feeble health but sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me heretofore made. ITEM 1: I give and bequeath and devise unto Wilie W. Cox, Chas. P. Farmer and Obedience C. Darden and their heirs the tract of land purchased of William A. Darden and Wilie D. Rountree trustees of Basset Sikes it being the tract whereon I now reside. Also one other tract of land deeded to me by Samuel Taylor, also all my household and kitchen furniture, all my stock of every kind, all my corn, fodder, and peas, pork and potatoes that may be on hand at the time of my death, also all my farming implements and riding vehicles of every description. This including the stock above named on the plantation where I now reside, in special trust and confidence that they will allow my wife Zilpha J. Cox the use and enjoyment of the same during her life or widowhood, and after the death or marriage of my wife then the said trustees will hold the remainder for the use and enjoyment of my daughter Francis E. Williams, and after the death of the said Francis E. Williams if she leaves no living heir to the age of twenty one years, then the remainder to my living children if any, if no living children to my grandchildren, also ten shairs of stock in the Wilson Bank. ITEM 2: I give and devise unto Chas. P. Farmer, Zilpha J. Cox and Obedience C. Darden and their heirs the tract of land conveyed to me by Wily W. Cox and wife Mary A. Cox by deed bearing date January 29th 1878, and supposing to contain one hundred and twenty acres (illegible line) with the mill on said land, also one other tract of land known as a portion of the Thomas Ruffin’s land adjoining the lands of William Thompson, Lydia Edmundson and others supposed to contand three hundred and fifty acres more or less in special trust and confidence that they will allow my son Wilie W. Cox the use and enjoyment of the same during his life. And after the death of the said Wily W. Cox the first tract mentioned in this item is to go to the use and enjoyment of my grandson Louis M. Cox and his heirs. ITEM 3rd: I give and devise unto Wily W. Cox, Chas. P. Farmer and Obedience C. Darden and their heirs that portion of the land deeded to me by Garry Edmundson to to the line though the land made by myself it being the side next to the T. L. Vail line now owned by me, supposed to contain four hundred and thirty acres, more or less, in special trust and confidence that they will allow my grandson John C. Cox the use and enjoyment of the same during his life. In case he should die before he arrives at the age of twenty one years and should not leave any living children at his death, then to the use and enjoyment of all my living children and their heirs. ITEM 4th: I give and devise unto Wily W. Cox, Chas. P. Farmer and Obedience C. Darden and their heirs the tract of land I purchased of Thomas L. Vail to the line of the land made by myself adjoining this land already deeded in trust to my grandson John C. Cox supposed to contain four hundred and ten acres, more or less in special trust and confidence that they will allow my granddaughter Zilpha Zilpha E. Cox the use and enjoyment of the same during her life. In case she should die without leaving any lawful children, then to the use and enjoyment of all my living children and their heirs. ITEM 5th: I give and devise unto Wily W. Cox and Chas. P. Farmer and their heirs the balance of the land deeded to me by Garry Edmundson adjoining the lands known as Samuel R. Pridgen dec’d land the dividing line made by myself supposed to contain three hundred and twenty acres, more or less. Also one other tract of land deeded to me by A. L. Darden and wife supposed to contain two hundred and forty acres, more or less, it being a portion whereon they now live, also one other tract of land deeded to me by A. L. Darden and wife known as the red house land said to contain one hundred and twenty eight acre, more or less, also one other tract deeded to me by same parties, known as the Jesse Pridgen land said to contain forty eight acres, more or less, also one piano in special trust and confidence that they will allow my daughter Obedience C. Darden the use and enjoyment of the same during her life. The remainder of all the real estate mentioned in this item to the heirs of Obedience C. Darden. In case she dies without leaving any living children the remainder to go to my living children and their heirs. The piano mentioned in this item, after the death of Obedience C. Darden to her youngest daughter. I also give and devise to the said trustees two shares in the Wilmington and Weldon Railroad for use and enjoyment of my daughter Obedience C. Darden and her heirs. ITEM 6th: I give and devise unto Wily W. Cox, Obedience C. Darden and Zilpha J. J. Cox and their heirs a portion of the land deeded to me by Joshua Barnes and wife and a small portion of the Thomas Ruffin land making the dividing line made by myself supposed to contain seven hundred and fifty acres, more or less, in special trust and confidence that the said trustees will allow my grandsons Moses C. and Chas. P. Farmer the use and enjoyment of the same during their lives. In case of the death of said Moses C. Farmer, they will allow said Chas. P. Farmer the use and enjoyment of the same during his life the remainder to his children and their heirs if he has any, if not any to go to my living children and their heirs. ITEM 7th: I give and devise unto Wily W. Cox, Chas. P. Farmer and Zilpha J. Cox the remainder of my property in special trust and confidence that they will first pay all my just debts, the remainder to be equally divided amongst my wife Zilpha J. Cox, Wilie W. Cox, Obedience C. Darden, Francis E. Williams, Chas. P. Farmer and my grandsons John C. Cox and Sanders P. Darden and my granddaughter Zilpha Cox on their arrival at the age of twenty one years. If they should die without leaving any children, theirs to be divided among my living children, if any, if not any to go to my grandchildren. All the real estate mentioned in each and all of the above items is situated in the State of North Carolina and in the counties of Greene, Wilson, Wayne, and Orange. Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint A. L. Darden, Henry G. Williams, Jr and Chas. P Farmer executors to this my land Will and Testament. In witness whereof I Sanders P.
