Greene County, NC - Will of Hugh Harper, 1847 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WILL OF HUGH HARPER Partial copy of hand copied Will found at NC Archives, NC Supreme Court Case #4646. In the name of God Amen I Hughey P. Harper of the State of North Carolina and county of Greene being of sound mind and memory but Knowing that it is appointed LH (appears to be initials and the will has been cut) I give and bequeath unto my son Benjamin D. Harper all my estate after settling my debts, with the exception of three hundred dollars to be paid to said W. Scarborough when twenty one years of age if he lives till then, if he does not live till them, I want Ben to have all – if Benjamin does not live till of age then I dispose of my estate as follows: I give to my sisters if alive or their children and brother William H. Harper, Rosey Pope, Rachel Sutton, Eliza Hartsfield and Matilda Harper all to have an equal share except one dollar which I want Hollan to have and give it to her to show that she was thought of this was writing.
