Greene County, NC - Will of Ahymrick Hill, 1887 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the name of God Amen I AHYMRICK HILL of the County Greene and State of North Carolina being of Sound Mind and Memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this My Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say. FIRST that my executor hereinafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial Suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends, and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the first monies that may first come into their hands as a part or parcel of my estate. ITEM 1ST I give and devise to my beloved wife MARY S.B.I. one bed bed-stead and furniture, one horse, one fourth of my Stock, one fourth of my money and notes after paying all my just debts. I lend to my wife MARY S.B.I. during her natural life fifty acres of cleared land around my dwell-ing house, with the privilege of all my timber land for the support of the fifty acres and after her death I give and devise Said land to my daughters and the lawful heirs of their body and if one should die without a lawful heir of her body, then her land and property is to go to the other surviv-ing heirs. ITEM 2ND I give and devise to my beloved daughter HARRIET SUSAN fifty two acres of land, thirty six lying on the Rainbow Creek and bounded as follows (gives description, mentions Rainbow Run, Joseph Turnage corner) Also one other tract of Sixteen acres of her fifty acre tract (gives description) And one bed Stead, bed and furniture, and one fourth of my Stock, one fourth of my money and notes after paying my just debts and one fourth of my crop which I may have on hand at my death and one third of my household and Kitchen furniture and farming utensils to have and to hold to her and the lawful heirs of her body in fee simple forever, and if she Should die without a lawful heir of her body then said property is to go to the other surviving heirs. ITEM 3RD I give and devise to my Daughter HULDAH ANN ELIZABETH the western part of my plantation beginning on the Rainbow at the bridge (gives description) Also sixteen acres of my fifty acre tract (gives descrip-tion) Also one bed Stead bed and furniture and one third of the household and Kitchen furniture and farming utensils and one fourth of my crop and one fourth of my money and notes after my debts are paid and one fourth of my crop to have and to hold to her and her heirs of her body in fee simple forever. And if she should die without a lawful heir of her body then said property is to go to the surviving heirs. ITEM 4TH I give and devise to my daughter SARAH JOHN the middle part of my plantation beginning on the Rainbow Run (gives description) Also another tract of Sixteen Acres (gives description) Also one bed bed stead and furniture and one third of the household and Kitchen furniture and farming utensils and one fourth of my Crop and Stock and one fourth of my money and notes after my just debts are paid, to have and to hold to her and the lawful heirs of her body in fee simple forever. And if she should die without a lawful heir of her body, then the said property is to go to the surviving heirs. It is my desire that my Dwelling house Shall be the home of my children as long as they live Single, and I except 20 yards square around the grave yard for a family grave yard and each of my children contribute twenty five cents yearly to keep it walled in.
