According to Ima Mewborn's notes, Tabitha Aldridge was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Parrott Mewborn Aldridge and was born CA 1771. She married Abraham Hill, son of Robert and Martha Murphrey Hill. She had three children, Joseph Parrott, Laney and Lemuel Hill. I don't have Ima's notes as to her death date. The original Will is in the possession of Elder J. M. Mewborn and a typed copy in the notes of Ima Mewborn. Third: I give and bequeath to my grandchildren, Tabitha Hill, Thomas R. Hill, and Joseph ? Hill, children of Parrott and Luisa Hill, one negro woman, name Suckey and her increase if any and one negro by named Bryant, to them and there heirs forever and my will is if either of these children should dy before they have any lawful increase begotten of their boddys that there part go to the survivers of the three. Fourth: I give and bequeath to my son Lemuel Hill three hundred and twenty-five dollars and one large chest and one bed and furnature, the one I commonly lion (sic) to him and his heirs forever. Fifth: I give and bequeath to my daughter Laney Dixon three hundred dollars and one bed and sted, two sheets, one bed cover, one bed quilt and all my waring clothes to her and her heirs forever. Sixth: My will is that all my bed clothing not here-to-fore disposed of be equally divided between Lemuel Hill and Laney Dixon to share and share alike. Seventh: My will and desire is that all the balance of my property not here before disposed of be sold at a publick sale an a credit of five monthly and the money arising therefrom to be equally divided between Lemuel Hill, Laney Dixon and Parrott and Luisa Hill's children, namely: Tabitha, Thomas R. and Joseph P. Hill to be equally divided into three parties and Lemuel to have a third and Laney a third and the three children the other third after my just debts and funeral expenses being first paid, the ballence to them and there heirs forever. Eighth: I also give and bequeath to Tabitha Hill and Thomas R. Hill and Joseph P. Hill, children of Parrott and Luisa Hill, one hundred dollars which was not intended to be in the seventh item but now given in this item to them and there heirs forever. Ninth: I also five and bequeath to Lemuel Hill one note which I hold on him to the amount of fifteen dollars which was not included in the seventh item; but now given in this to him and his heirs forever and I hereby make and ordane my worthy friend Parrott Mewborn executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I, the said Tabitha Hill have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written SIGNED TABITHA HIL (Seal) Sined, sealed, published and recorded the said Tabitha Hill, the testator as her last will and testement in the presence of us who was present at the time of signing and sealing there-of.
