JOHN MURPHY WILL

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
GREENE COUNTY

I, John Murphy, of the above named state and county do make and declare this 
my last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows:

ITEM 1st:
I devise that my executors herein after named shall settle my estate 
according to law.

ITEM 2nd:
I hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friends, Jesse A. Jones of 
Raleigh, N. C. and W. Haywood Dail of Snow Hill, N. C. my lawful executors, 
to execute this my last Will and Testament.  In witness whereof, I hereunto 
set my hand and seal this Sept. 27th 1889.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Murphy to be his last 
Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his 
presence subscribed our names as witnesses.

CODICIL

I John Murphy do make this as a codicil to the foregoing last Will and 
Testament –

I appoint and constitute my beloved wife, Mollie A. Murphy the guardian of 
my children to execute the said guardianship without bond or security
