This copy contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives. by Brenda Davis Stocks georgia2@piratesnet.com ========================================================= Ormond: William Ormond, Sr., 1813 Last Will and Testament of William Ormond,Sr. Generously shared by Pattie McCay Dunn, from her private family papers Transcribed by Brenda Davis Stocks and Janice Tripp Gurganus from the original document In the Name of God Amen I William Ormond of Greene County in the State of North Carolina Farmer being in health & of Sound Mind & memory but reflecting on the uncertainty of Life do therefore make this my last Will & Testament. & first I resign my Soul to my Heavenly Father, my Body to be decently buried & my Estate I dispose of as follows I give to my daughter Ann Harper one Negro named Peter, & one brass skillet, one Iron Mortar and pestle, two pewter Tankards, & two Chairs to her heirs & Assigns forever I give to my Son Thomas my Sound and great Table I give to my Son James Ormond five Negros named Bob, David & Fanney & her two Children Peter & Lyd & their Increase from this day to him his heirs & Assigns forever I give to my Son Watkins Ormond six Negros named Rose, Punch, Amos & Jacob & China & her Child C____? & their increase from this day to him his heirs & Assigns forever I lend unto my daughter Mary Hart the Use benefit Work & Labour of my three Negros Patience, Washington & Avey during her life time, & after her death I give the said Negros & their Increase to all the Children She now has & may hereafter have I give to my daughter Mary Hart what money shall be left by me & debts due to me, my Bed & all the furniture belonging to it, three pewter basons, one small desk, my Chest, my Saddle, one pair of Spoon-Molds, one pair of fire-dogs & my Hand-Mill I give my two Sons James & Watkins my Still & Worm & Smith's Tools I give to my Grand-Son Franklin Moseley Eight Negros named Dave, Hannah, Lydia, Rachael, Gatsey, little China, Sam & Clary & their Increase from this day, the said Negros now being in his Father's possession I give to my three Sons my Surveying Instruments, Weaving Apparrel, all my Books, Acts of Assembly & my Desk Lastly I give to my Son Watkins Ormond all the Rest & Residue of my personal Estate of all kinds whatsoever not herein before Expressly given And I do hereby appoint my three Sons Thomas Ormond James Ormond & Watkins Ormond my Executors to execute this my last Will & Testament. In Testimony whereof I the said William Ormond have hereunto put my hand & Seal this fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & Thirteen.
