By 1820, John and Annritter were living in Guilford County somewhat southwest of present day Greensboro, actually very close to Jamestown. While not proven, John was likely the first son of Thomas Little who moved from Beaufort County to Guilford County in 1804, just before dying in Guilford County in 1806. Thomas' wife was likely Letitia Williams, from Beaufort/Pitt County. Thomas was the proven son of John Little of Beaufort/Pitt County and the grandson of Thomas Little who settled in Beaufort/Pitt County in around 1728. John and Annritter Hollen Little lived in Guilford County between 1820 and 1840 and are shown in each N.C. Census with the correct number of children by sex. John, Annritter, Hugh, and others moved to Tipton County, Indiana around 1840 and lived there until about 1856 when Hugh Robinson Little moved to near Abilene, Kansas. John Little followed his son Hugh to Kansas and together homesteaded land there. John's other son Williams was reported to have moved to Kansas as well. John and Annritter were both proven to have been born in 1785, most likely in Beaufort/Pitt County, N.C. Annritter died in 1850 and is buried in Tipton County, Indiana. John died in 1867 and is buried near Abilene, Kansas. While living in the Greensboro area, all Census reports place John Little living very near several probable brothers who were: Thomas Williams Little, Wesley Little, Hugh Little, and Robert Little. This family and many of their descendants remained in the Greensboro area throughout the nineteenth century. Hugh Little, one of John's likely younger brothers, was a saddler by trade and owned land on the Long Branch and the North Fork of Deep River. Hugh married Thankful Sullivan on January 2, 1822 and had several children including sons Hugh and James O'Kelly (JOK) Little. Also, Hugh was one of the original founders of the Hickory Grove Methodist Church and he and Thankful and son Hugh are buried in that church cemetery. Hugh died in 1878 and his wife just a few years later. Many of Hugh's descendants likely still live in the Greensboro area. The John Little family bible has been handed down through five generations within the Little family and currently is in the possession of Wesley Little of Gulf Breeze, Florida. The Bible was published by the N.C. Bible Society in 1810 and is a leather bible approximately 5 X 8 inches.
