Guilford County, NC – Jamestown - Act to Revive Act, 1828 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An act to revive an act, passed in the year eighteen hundred and sixteen, entitled "an act to appoint commissioners for the town of Jamestown, in the county of Guilford, and to incorporate the same" Whereas, by length of time, neglect, and the removal and death of some of said commissioners named in the before recited act, the said act has become obsolete, and ceased to have effect: Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the passage of this act, the before recited act be and the same shall be hereby stand revived; and that Richard Mendenhall, Solomon Haworth, Richard Haworth, David Lindsey and Isaac J.M. Lindsey, be, and they are hereby appointed commissioners for said town, who shall have and possess the same powers and authorities as contained in the before recited act. And be it further enacted, That at any time hereafter, upon the death, removal or resignation of any one or more of said commissioners, that it shall be lawful for such vacancy to be filled by the surviving or remaining commissioners; and the commissioner or commissioners so appointed shall have and possess the same powers and authorities as are usually exercised by commissioners for other incorporated towns in this State.
