Note: in 1810 census, John Taylor was listed next to John Shaw. 1805 Ordered that an Orphant boy by the name of William Taylor Which was bound to Nathan Shaw until he arrive at the Age of Twenty one year be taken from him and the Indenture Recinded. in the Tow[n] of Martinsville. Ordered that an orphant Boy by the name of William Taylor age between 16 and 17 years be Bound to William Starbuck Junior until he arrives at age of twenty one years and he is to give him Eighteen months schooling and learn him the Art and mastery of a Shoe maker and a horse bridle and Saddle to be worth Sixty dollars and freedom dues—in the Tow[n] of Martinsville.
