Charles Bland to Joseph Thornburgh, 1800

This indenture made the thirty first day of May in the year  of our lord 
eighteen hundred between Charles Bland of the County of Guilford and State of 
North Carolina f the one part and Joseph Thornburgh of the county and state 
aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Bland for and in  
consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the 
said Joseph Thornburgh the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted 
bargained and sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grand 
bargain and sell alien and conform unto the said Joseph Thornburgh his heirs 
and assign all that Messuage or Tenement of land sold situate lying and being 
in the county of Guilford and state  aforesaid on the waters of north buffalo 
beginning at Robert Rankin corner post Oak in Ralph Gorielles line turning 
thence west along Rankins line two chains to a small post oak on his  ?  line 
then south on said line thirty  chains  to his corner post oak on Bradens line 
thence east on said line three chains and half to a Persimmon Bush thence 
south along their line twenty chains to a black jack thence west along their 
line fourteen chains and seventy five links to John Christopher Corner black 
oak thence south along his line twenty seven chains to a white oak saplin 
thence east twenty one chains to a post oak bush thence north to and along 
Ralph Gorrells line to at the first station containing one hundred acres by 
the same more or less together with all Mines Minerals commodities advantages 
hereditements  & profits whatsoever and also the reversions and remainders 
Rents and Services of said premises unto said Joseph Thornburgh his heirs and 
assigns to the only proper use and behoof of said Joseph Thornburgh to have 
and to hold with the appurtenance unto the said Joseph Thornburgh and his 
heirs and assigns for ever all and singular the above described premises and 
every appurtenances thereto belonging and the said Charles Bland for himself 
his heirs to the said Joseph Thornbrugh and his heirs and assigns shall and 
will warrant and forever defend by these presents the above described tract of 
land and the appurtenances thereto belonging against the  just and lawful 
claim of any other person or persons whatsoever of by from or under him or 
them in witness whereof the said Charles Bland hath hereunto set his hand and 
seal the day and year  above written  his signed sealed and delivered in the 
presence of
