Jester CPJester@aol.com January 5, 2008, 1:39 am Written: 1798 Guilford County Deeds - Book G p. 147 Arthur Bland and wife to Isaac Armfield, 1798 This indenture made this nineteenth day of December in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight between Arthur Bland and Rebeckah Bland his wife of the County of Guilford and state of North Carolina of the one part and Isaac Armfield of the County and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Arthur Bland and Rebeckah his wife for and in consideration of he sum of two hundred and forty five dollars to them in hand paid before this entailing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Arthur and Rebeckah his wife doth hereby acknowledge and every part thereof doth discharge and ----- the said Isaac Armfield his heirs exec'rs admrs and every of them hath given granted bargained and sod and confirmed and by the said presents do dive grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Isaac Armfield his heirs and assigns for ever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in our county of Guilford aforesaid and on the waters of South Buffalow and being a tract of land conveyed to said Bland by Nathan Lister conveyance bearing date February 14th 1796 as may be made appear by the records of this county and part of a tract conveyed to said Bland by Thos. Croutch beginning at a Hickory turning thence east two hundred and ninety eight poles to a Black Jack thence south sixty six poles to a White Oak thence west two hundred and ninety eight to a post oak thence north sixty six poles to the beginning containing one hundred and twenty two acres and three quarters together. with all and singular the appurtenances and advantages thereunto belonging have and to hold the aforesaid land and premises with the appurtenance unto the said Isaac Armfield his heirs and assigns for ever and together only proper use and behoof and the said Arthur Bland and Rebeckah his wife for themselves their heirs exer'rs and admr's doth by these presents covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said Isaac Armfield his heirs and assigns in manner and form following that is to say that the said Isaac Armfield his heirs and assigns for ever here after shall and may quietly have hold and possess and enjoy the aforesaid parcel or tract of land and premises with all the appurtenance free and clear and freely and clearly acquitted and discharged from all encumbrances whatever except what may hereafter grow due and that he the said Arthur Bland and Rebeckah his wife for themselves their heirs the one hundred and twenty two acres and three quarters of land and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging against themselves their heirs and against all and every other person or persons claiming by from or under them the said Arthur Bland and Rebeckah his wife to the said Isaac Armfield is heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereof we have here unto our hands and affixed our seals the day and year above written Arthur his X mark Bland Rebeckah her X mark Bland in presence of us William Armfield 3rd William Armfield 2nd Guilford County November court 1799 Wm.
