High Sherrif as aforesaid Commanding him to be made the assessed Sum to Satisfy the said Several Executions & the said Abner Weatherly Esqr. high Sherrif as aforesaid in pursuance of & by virtue of his office & the assessed Execution did Seize and Take Into his Hands & Custody their being no goods nor Chattles a certain piece of land situate Lying & being in the County of Guilford & by calculation said to contain Two hundred and sixty three acres Bounded as follows (To Wit) Begining at a post Oak Corner to a former survey of his own Runing thence west on his own Line One Hundred & Ten poles to his corner post Oak thence South on his own Line Twenty Six poles to William Russell's corner post Oak thence west on his line Sixty Two poles to Wm. Gowdy's corner Spanish Oak thence North on his line Two hundred & Sixteen poles to his Corner post Oak then west on his Line one hundred & Ten poles to a white Oak thence North with his line thirty eight poles to a Black Oak thence East Two Hundred & Eight two poles to a grub then to the first Station Seventeen acres out of the above mentioned Bounds Being Excepted having been Laid off to his widows part of her Dower the Balance Calculated for Two hundred and Sixty three Acres be the same more or less is only hereby Intended to be conveyed and the said Abner Weatherly Sherif as aforesaid after Due Advertisement According to Law did cause the said piece or parcel of Land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to be put up at Publick Sale to the highest Bidder on the first day of February In the year one Thousand Seven hundred & Ninety Eight at which Time 7 Place Samuel Maxwell became the last & highest Bidder at the sum of Ninety three pounds two and eleven pence for the said Lands with the appurtenances thereunto Belonging which said Land the Said Sherif aforesaid hath for the consideration of Ninety Three pounds three & eleven to him in hand paid by the said Samuel Maxwell at & before the Sealing & Signing of these presents the Receipt & payment hereof is Hereby Acknowledge and said Abner Weatherly Sherif as aforesaid Doth hereby Bargain Sell alien Enfeoff? Also one undivided fourth part of all that tract of land supposed to contain one hundred acres purchased by said Morehead & Russell of Philip Coble? as well more fully appear by sequence to the Deed for the same on which was a G?_s_& saw mill & lying on both dies the Alamance. Russell of Guilford County in the State of North Carolina on the one part and Archibald D. Murphey of Orange County in said State of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and sixty Dollars to him in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivering of these present. The receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Alexander H. Russell hath given, granted, bargained and sold and by these present doth give grant bargain and sell to the said Archibald D. Murphey a certain tract of Land whereon he the Said Alexander H. Russell no Resides lying in Guilford County aforesaid on the Waters of the Rich fork of Abbots Creek adjoining the lands of Benedict Hitchcock, John L/Taveyers?, Enos Hiatt & others and bounded as follows to Wit: Begining at a White Oak on John McCunys? Line running thence South fifty line Chains twenty five links to a white oak thence east forty three chains fifty links to a ___?, thence north twenty nine chains to a post Oak in John McCunys line thence west five chains to a black oak.
