For 300 pounds hard money, half Johanns at 3.4 pounds and hard dollars at 0.8 pounds, and other gold and silver in proportion; sold 293 acres on both sides of Reedy Fork [Reedy Fork Creek dissects the entire county of Guilford, but according to the Hughes or Custom House Map, Greene’s army crossed, and may even have camped on the McDowell farm located in the triangle formed by Reedy Fork Creek, Long Branch, and Arvin’s Branch] of Haw River. Border begins at JOHN WHITE’s corner ash on edge of Long Branch and joins Lethom Donnell. Part of a grant (no date) by the Earl of Granville to George Black, who sold to Thomas Donnell who sold to JOHN WHITE. Signed JOHN WHITE and JANE WHITE.
