All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Szum m.szum2006@sbcglobal.net May 23, 2008, 9:38 pm Chester County PA Written: November 1, 1775 ANN MORROW & ALS TO JAMES GLENN This Indenture made the first day of November Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and seventy five Between Anne Morrow widow and Administratrix of James/David Morrow late of the Township of Colerain in the County of Lancaster and Province of Pennsylvania (only son & heir at law of the said James Morrow deceased) of Guilford County North Carolina yeoman of the one part and Jam's Glenn of the Township of East Nottingham in the COunty of Chester and Province of Pennsylvania aforesaid yeoman of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Anne Morrow & her son, the said David Morrow for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and thirty seven pounds nineteen shills and five pence half penny lawful money of Pennsylvania, to them in hand paid and secured by the said James Glenn at or before the ensealing and delivery thereof, the recipt whereof they the said Ann Morrow and David Morrow do hereby acknowledge and thermselves therewith fully satisfyed and threof and of every part and parcel thereof do acquit and forever discharge the said James Glenn his heirs and assigns by these presents Have given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents they the said Anna Morrow and David Morrow do freely and fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release and convey unto the said James Glenn his heirs and assigns forever. ALL THAT messuage plantation and tract of land situate lying and being in Colerain and Little Britain Township in the County of Lancaster aforesaid Bounded and described as follows viz: Beginning at a marked white oak corner of land late of Benjamin Wilson and Henry Hasting thence by the same SOuth thrity one degrees East one hundred and seventy two perches to a post North eighty nine degrees West thirty nine perches and a half to a black oak, thence by John Walker's land South forty four degrees West one hundred and fifteen perches to a post thence by land surveyed for William Barclay North sixty six degrees west thirty two perches to a maple South nine degrees West forty perches to a post & South seventy six degrees West twenty five prches to a post, thence by vacant land North thirty four degrees East eleven perches to a white oak and west northwest sixty five perches to a post north twenty degrees West eighteen and a half perches to a white oak and west northwest sixty five perches to a white oak thence by Joseph Walker's land North eight degrees East six perches to a marked whiteoak standing by the Western Branch of Octoraro thence up the several courses of the same forty seven perches to a white oak north forty nine degrees East thirteen perches to a Spanish Oak North sixteen degrees west fifty six perches to a Spanish Oak North forty four degrees East one hundred and five perches to a chestnut North nine degrees East thirty five perches to a white oak and North thirty two degrees East twenty seven perches to the Beginning containing one hundred and ninety seven acres and one hundred perches with allowance for roadsw be the same more or less. Part pf tje saod tract being surveyed in pursuance of a Warrant for fifty acres more or less granted to the aforesaid James Morrow the 23rd day of January 1744 under the hand of George Thomas then Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Pennsylvania etc and some additions have since been made in pursuance of an application of a later date, reference to the said recited Warrant etc being had may appear. together with all and singular ye buildings orchards gardens meadows woods ways waters watercoursses rights liberties priviledges profits advantages hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions remainders issues rents and profits thereof and allt he estate right title and interest property claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Anne Morrow and David Morrow of in or to the same or any part thereof. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the sd. messuage plantation and piece or parcel of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted with their appurtenances unto the said James Glenn his heirs and assigns to be the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said James Glenn his heirs and assigns forever subject nevertheless to the payment of the residue of the purchase money quitrents interest and arrears thereof due and becoming due to the chief lord or lords of the fee thereof. And Anne Morrow and David Morrow for themselves their heirs do covenant promise and grant to and with the said James Glenn his heirs and assigns that they the said Ann Morrow and David Morrow and their heirs the said tract or parcel of land and premises with the appurtenances unto him the said James Glenn his heirs and assigns against them the said Anne Morrow and David Morrow and their heirs and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. IN WITNESS WHEREOF the said parties to these presents have interchangeably set their hands and seals hereunto dated the day and year first above written.
