JULIUS D. QUATE DEED FROM JONATHAN HODGIN

This Deed made this 10th day of November, A.D. 1883 by Jonathan Hodgin and his 
wife of Guilford County and State of North Carolina to Julius D. Quate of 
Guilford County and State of North Carolina Witnesseth That said Jonathan 
Hodgin & wife in Consideration of Sixty Dollars to them paid by Julius D. 
Quate the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and Sold and 
by these presents do bargain sell and convey to said Julius D Quate and his 
heirs a tract of land in Guilford County and State of North Carolina bounded 
as follows Viz
                                   Beginning at a stone J.S. Quate's Corner 
running North twelve poles to a stone thence west twenty six and two third 
Rods to a stone thence south twelve poles to a stone on J.S. Quates line 
thence East twenty six & two thirds poles to the first station Containing 2 
acres more or less. To Have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land and all 
privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said Julius D. Quate and 
his heirs and assigns to his only use and behoof. And the said Jonathan Hodgin 
& wife Covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee and have right to 
convey the same in fee simple that the same are free from imcumbrances and 
that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the 
claims of all persons whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the said Jonathan 
Hodgin & wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above

                   Be it remembered that on this 10 day of November A.D. 1883 
before me F. S. Davis Justice of the Peace for said County personally appeared 
Jonathan Hodgin & his wife J.V. Hodgin and acknowledged the execution of the 
foregoing deed and thereupon the said J.V. Hodgin being by me privately 
examined separate and apart from her said husband touching her free consent in 
the execution thereof doth declare that she had executed the same freely of 
her own will and accord without any force fear or undue influence of her said 
husband or other person and did still voluntarily assent thereto.

           The foregoing certificate of F. S. Davis who was a Justice of the 
Peace for said County is adjudged to be correct. Let the Deed with the
