State of North Carolina Guilford County – Fall Term, 1870 In obedience to the annexed writ issued by the Clerk of the Superior Court for the County of Guilford, and approved by his Honor Judge A. W.(?) Tourgee at Chambers, Greensboro, North Carolina April 4th, 1870. We the undersigned Commissioners named in said writ, and after being duly sworn proceeded to divide and make partition between and among Tabitha and Martha Holton, Quinton Holton, Alfred Holton, Jesse Holton and Jesse Crator heirs-at-law of Jesse Holton, deceased. That is to say lot No. one as shown in the above plat is assigned and appropriated to Tabitha and Martha Holton bounded as follows: Beginning at a stone on the east bank of Deep River, Dinah Armfield’s corner, then East 144 ½ rods to a post oak, thence South 102 rods to a black oak SE of the spring, then S. 44 deg. West 20 rods to a sycamore, then West 15 ½ rods to a stone on the East bank of the river, then north 14 rod to a stone, then West 31 rod to a stone, then South 17 rod to the river, thence up the river to the beginning, containing 92 acres, more or less, valued at two hundred and thirty seven dollars and fifty cents ($237.50). Lot No. 2 is assigned and appropriated to Jesse H. Crator in severalty, bounded as follows, Beginning at a stone on the West bank of Deep River running West 88 rods to a stone, H. L. Frazers’ corner, thence N. 80 rods to the river, thence with river S 77 deg. E 36 rods to the mill lot, thence S. 12 rods to a stone, thence East 31 rods to a stone, thence North 10 rods to the river, thence down the river to the beginning containing 36 acres, more or less, valued at seventy five dollars ($75.00). Lot No. 3 is assigned and appropriated to Quenton Holton in severalty, bounded as follows: Beginning at a stone on the East bank of the river in Armfields line, thence East 94 rods to a stone, thence North 96 rods to a stone, thence West 88 rods to a black oak, thence S. 44 deg. W. 20 rods to a sycamore on the East bank of the river, thence down the river to the beginning containing fifty four acres, more or less valued at seventy five dollars ($75.00). Lot No. 4 is assigned and appropriated to Jesse Holton in severalty, bounded as follows: Beginning at a black oak SE of the spring running North 102 rods to a post oak, thence East 51 ½ rods to a stone, thence South 101 rods to a stone, thence West 51 rods to the beginning containing thirty two and one half acres, more or less, valued at seventy fine dollars ($75.00) Lot No. 5 is assigned and appropriated to Alfred Holton in severalty, bounded as follows: Beginning at a stone the corner of Lot No. 4, thence North 101 rods to a stone, thence East 39 ½ rods to a stone, thence South 100 rods to a stone, thence West 37 rods to the beginning containing 24 acres, more or less, valued at sixty two dollars and 50 cents ($62.50) We furthermore charge the more valuable dividends with such sums of money respectively to be paid to those of inferior value respectively as will make an equitable division; that is to say, Lot No. 2 appropriated to Jesse H. Crator valued at seventy dollars is to pay to Lot No. 4 appropriated to Jesse Holton the sum of twelve dollars and fifty cents.
