Written: 1903

     This Deed, Made this the 16th day of November, 1903 by Robert M. Jones 
and his wife Margaret L. Jones of Guilford County and State of North Carolina, 
parties of the first part, to A. Augustin Quate of Guilford County and State 
of North Carolina, party of the second part.
     Witnesseth, That the said parties of the first part, in consideration of 
($200.00) Two hundred Dollars to them paid by the said party of the second 
part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, 
and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the 
second part and his heirs a tract or parcel of land in the County of Guilford 
and State of North Carolina, in Friendship Township, adjoining the lands of 
S.A. Kirkman, A. Peele, C.O. Stuart and others, and bounded as follows:  
Beginning at a stone near a poplar tree, S.A. Kirkman's North East corner of 
the James N. Blaylock tract of land said stone being also Albert Peele's 
corner: thence running North 59 degrees East 21 poles to a stone in Peele's 
house road: thence South 63 degrees East 15 poles to a stone Peeles corner: 
thence North 47 1/2 degrees East 2 poles to Stuarts corner: thence with his 
line South 85 degrees East 63 poles to a chestnut stump and stake: thence 
South 40 poles to a stone in C.O. Stuart's line, New Salem Church corner: 
thence with said Church lot West 20 poles to a stone: Thence west 80 degrees 
South (a new line) 29 1/2 poles to a poplar stump: thence west 44 poles to a 
stone in S.A. Kirkman's line: thence North 43 poles to the beginning, 
containing Thirty acres more or less.

The above land was conveyed to grantor by James N. Blaylock & wife See Book 
No. 115, Page 182 &c.

To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all 
appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said party of the second part and his 
heirs and assigns forever.

And the said parties of the first part do covenant that they are seized of 
said premises in fee and have the right to convey the same in fee simple; that 
the same are free from encumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the 
said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, The said parties of the first part have hereunto set 
their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA - Guilford County
I, Ernest Clapp Dept Clerk Sup. Court of said County, do hereby certify that 
Robt. M. Jones and his wife Margaret L. Jones grantors, personally appeared 
before me this day and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed of 
conveyance, and the said Margaret L. Jones being by me privately examined, 
separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of 
the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without 
fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth 
still voluntarily assent thereto.  Let the said deed and this certificate be 
registered.

     Witness my hand and seal, this the 16 day of Nov 1903
