ALEXANDER McCANN }
            This Indenture made this twenty seventh day of November in the 
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen between James McCann 
of the County of Guilford & State of North Carolina of the one part & 
Alexander McCann of the same of the other part. Witnesseth that for & in 
consideration of the sum of five hundred dollard paid to him the said James 
McCann to be paid by the said Alexander McCann the receipt whereof the said 
James McCann doth hereby acknowledge and hath given granted bargained and sold 
aleined and confess and confirm  unto him the said Alexander McCann his heirs 
and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying & being in the said 
County of Guilford and situate on the waters of the South fork of the Alamance 
River. Beginning black Oak on Peter Low's line twenty eight poles from his 
south westerly corner ~ Thence on his line running north forty one degrees 135 
poles. Thence north fourty eight degrees 39 poles to a white Oak. Thence north 
seventy three degrees East 196 poles. Thence south to the first station. 
containing two hundred Acres be the same more or less being bought from Sam'l 
McDill by James McCann, as clearly referenced in book 5, pg.s 509 in Guilford 
Co. deeds. with all lands waters mines minerals heriditaments and 
appurtinances to the land belonging or in any wise appurtaining to said land. 
To have and to hold to him the said McCann his heirs and assigns forever he 
the said James McCann doth forever defend the said Alexander McCann his heirs 
executors administrators & assigns from and against himself his heirs 
executors administrators or assigns and from and against the lawful claim from 
all persons whatever or whoever. In witness therefore he hath set his hand and 
affixed his seal the day & year above written.
