Carolina of the 1st part & Christian Foust of the same of the other part. Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred & seventy Dollars to him in hand paid by the Sd. Christian Foust the receipt hereof is hereby acknowledged & sold & by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alein & confirm to him the said Christian Foust his heirs & assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Guilford -- Situate on the south fork of Alamance. Beginning at a Red Oak sapling on Clapp's line running thence north 45 degrees east crossing Jacob's Branch 138 poles. - Thence north 48 degrees west 40 poles to a white oak. - Thence North 75 degrees east 150 poles to a Hickory, oak & white oak. - Thence South 30 East 220 poles to a grub amongst some pointers. - Thence west half a degree north 322 poles to the beginning, containing two hundred fourteen Acres more or less together with all woods waters mines minerals heriditaments and appurtinances to said land belonging or in any wise appurtaining to have & to hold the said Christian Foust his heirs executors administrators or assigns forever & further he the said Alexander McCann doth warrant & defend the right & title of said land unto him the said Christian Foust his heirs assigns & from & against himself his heirs executors administrators and assigns and from and against the lawful claim of all persons whatsoever. In witness whereof he hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day & year above written Alexander McCann {seal} Signed Sealed and delivered in the presents of W.
