Eugene Street Greensboro, NC Book I, Pages 404, 405 James McCuiston to Thos Lindsey Deed 50 This Indenture made this twenty nineth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hund & seventy seven between James McCuiston & Catrine his wife of the County of Guilford in the provinces of North Carolina on the one part & Thomas Lindsey on the County and province aforsd of the other part Witnesseth that the said James McCuiston & Katrine his wife for and in Confideration of the sum of one hundred pounds proc money of North Carolina to then in hand paid by the said Thomas Lindsey as ario before the sealing & delivering these presents the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged & hath Granted Bargained Sold Aliened & Confirmed by these presents doth grant Bargain Sell Alien & Confirm unto the said Thomas Lindsey his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Guilford in the provence aforsaid and on Richland creek of Reedy fork of haw River & bounded as followeth viz. Beginning at a White Oak on a branch of Richland creek it being James McCuistons N. West Corner Runing from thence South one hundred and fifty perches along the old line to a stake from thence East forty five Degrees South along the Division line James McCuiston and AJohn McCuiston Seventy two perches to a stake thence North Fifteen perches to a Stake then West Thirty six perches to a stake thence North fifty eight perches to a stake then West Thirty six perches to a stake thence North Seventy six perches to a stake thence thirty perches to the Beginning Containing in all fifty acres of land be the same more of less it being part of a tract of land Granted to James McCuiston Senr By Earl Granville Agent by Deed bearing date the eighteenth of December in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty three which tract of land was left to James McCuifton Jur as will more fully appear by Reference being had to the last will of Testament of James McCuifton Senr bearing date the eighteenth day of October in the year of our Lord One Thoufand seven hundred and sixty five and also all the Timbers (?) Woods Waters and appurtenances whatsoever belong to the said fifty acres of Land with the rents & services thereof and also all the estate title and demand Whatsoever of them the said James McCuifton and Katrine his wife and their heirs in and to the said tract or parcel of land with the Appurtenance unto the said Thomas Lindsey his heirs and assigns forever and the said James McCuifston and Katrine his wife for themfelves their heirs Executors and Adminisrators doth Covenant and agree to and with the siad Thomas Linsey his heirs and assigns that the they said James McCuifton and Katrine his wife their heirs Exetres and Admrs the said tract and parcel of land unto the said Thomas Lindsey his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents against all manner of person or per persons whatsoever claiming by them or under the In Witness whereof the said James McCuifton and Katrine his wife hath hereunto set their hand and affixed their seals the day and year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of us} James McCuifton (seal) Francis McNary Catherine [her mark] McCuifton Benjamin McFarlin (seal) Along the old line to a Staek was Interlined before it was signed Francis McNary Benjamin McFarlin Guilford County fs Auguft Court 1777 The within Deed from James McCuifton and wife to Thomas Lindsey was proved in Open Court by the oath of Benjamin McFarlin one of the Subscribing Witnesses hereto & on Motion was Ordered to be Registred Tefs Tho Henderson CC ______________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
