Nathaniel and Richard Mendenhall to Nimrod Jester, 1808

This Indenture made this twenty third day of April in the year of one thousand 
eight hundred and eight between Nathaniel & Richard Mendenhall Exec'rs to the 
estate of George Mendenhall deceased of the one part and Nimrod Jester (Mason) 
of the other part all of Guilford County in the State of North Carolina . 
Witnesseth that the said Mendenhalls  for & in consideration of the sum of one 
hundred and twenty five dollars to the said George Mendenhall in hand paid by 
the said Nimrod Jester before the sealing and delivery of these presents  the 
Receipt whereof they the said Nathan & Richard Mendenhall exec'rs do hereby 
acknowledge hath granted bargained and so to by these presents doth grant 
Bargain and Sell  alien and confirm unto the said Nimrod Jester his heirs and 
assigns forever all that tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in 
said county of Guilford on the waters of South Buffalow Creek Beginning as a 
Black Oak turning east eleven poles to a stone then south fifty six poles to a 
post Oak then east forty five poles to a black Jack then south one hundred and 
eighty one poles to a Post Oak then west twenty one poles to a Bush then north 
ninety seven poles to a Black Jack then west sixty five poles to a stone then 
north sixty seven poles to a poplar then east eight poles to a Oak then North 
forty poles to a Hickory then west sixteen poles to a white Oak then north 
forty poles to a stone then east one hundred and thirty five poles to a white 
Oak then south eight poles to the front station containing one hundred acres 
more or less together with all wood water Minerals hereditiments and 
appurtenance  to said said  land or belonging thereto or in any way 
appertaining to ----to the said Nimrod Jester his heirs & assigns  forever 
freed and cleared from all encumbrances whatsoever the sums paid on yearly or 
otherwise by the government excepted and the said Nathan & Richard Mendenhall 
as Exec'rs doth  covenant and agree to ----- and defend the above described  
granted hundred acres of land & premises together with appurtenances unto the 
said Nimrod Jester his heirs and assigns forever from all manner of persons 
whatsoever claiming by from or under then or any of them in witness whereof  
the said executors hath here unto set their hands and seals the day  an year 
above written

Nathan & Richard Mendenhall exec'rs of the last will and testament of George 
Mendenhall  dec'd came into open court and acknowledge the execution of the
