Jester CPJester@aol.com January 5, 2008, 1:34 am Written: 1794 Guilford County Deeds - Book E p. 536 William Montgomery to George Blan(d), 1794 This indenture made the sixteenth day of August in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety four and in the eighteenth year of the independence of the united states of North America between William Montgomery Sen. of the state of North Carolina and county of Guilford of the one part and George Blan for the same state and county aforesaid of the other part doth witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of eighty pounds current money of said state to him in hand paid the said William Montgomery Sen. by the said George Bland before the sealing and delivery ---- of the receipt whereof the said William Montgomery Sen. doth hereby acknowledge and hath granted bargained an sold alien and enfeoff and confirm unto the said George Bland to his own particular use and behoof the said William Montgomery do sign this ------ condition that said Bland have the whole and full power of ordering and disposing and selling thereof said parcel of land situating and lying and being on the waters of the Buffalow being in the county of Guilford one hundred and ninety five acres bounded as follows beginning at a post oak grub turning south on William Montgomery Jun. one and sixty poles to a white oak thence east one hundred and eight poles to a Black oak in Henry Cobs line thence with and on his one hundred and sixty to a post oak in Gilberts line thence west to the beginning containing one hundred seventy five acres to the same more or less together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditements and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to have and to hold the said as follows him his heirs executors or his adminsistators or assigns for ever free and clear of and from all encumbrance whatsoever except such sum or sum s the general assembly shall see cause from time to time to lay on the said William Montgomery Sen. binds himself his heirs executors administrators or assigns by the covenant forever to warrant and defend the said tract of land and premises with all the appurtenances against himself and every other person or person s lawfully claiming the same in witness whereof the said William Montgomery Sen. hat freely set his hand and seal this sixteenth day of August 1794 witnesses present signed William Montgomery John Brown John Gilbert Wm.
