Land Grants, Microfilm S.108.720, North Carolina State Archives, No. 98, Grant 
#98, Entry #2, Book #33, page 98, entered May 20, 1778, issued December 16, 
1778:

	Plotted by a scale of 200 poles to an inch. The annexed plan represents 
640 acres of land surveyed the 12th of September, 1778 for JOHN WHITE, situate 
on both sides of the Long Branch of the Reedy Fork of Haw River in the County 
of Guilford, beginning at a post oak in Thomas Donald’s line, running thence 
west, crossing the said Long Branch two hundred and four poles to an ash, 
thence along the line south eighteen poles to a post oak, thence along his line 
west ninety-two poles to a white oak in Abram Whiteside’s line, thence along 
his line west one hundred and twenty-four poles to three black oaks, thence 
north crossing the said Long Branch two hundred and twenty three poles to a 
post oak, thence east crossing Arwin’s Branch four hundred twenty poles to a 
black oak, thence south crossing a branch two hundred and forty-seven poles to 
the first station.
