Isaac Odle to the Members of the Meeting of Nicholites, 1796

this indenture made this twenty second day of the eleventh month in the year 
of our lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six between Isaac Odle of 
Guilford County and State of North Carolina and the members f the society of 
people called Nicholites of the same place  witnesseth that the said Isaac 
Odle for and in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds six ----  -----  
current money  of said state to him in hand paid before the insealing and 
delivery hereof by the said members of society the receipt whereof the said 
Isaac Odle doth hereby acknowledge  --------  to be  therewith fully satisfied 
contented and paid and thereof doth by these presents grant  bargain and sell 
convey and confirm unto the said members for he use and benefit of Isaac  
Nichols and his heirs for ever a certain  piece of land hereafter descried 
lying in the county  and state aforesaid on the waters of Israels Creek being 
part of a lot the said Odle lately purchased of George pope beginning at a 
post oak being a division corner of said Odles and James Caldwell standing in 
a line of John Horneys on the south side of said Israels creek and turning 
south with said Horneys line fifty one rods to a sasafrach saplin thence west 
fifty one rods to a  stone  thence north fifty one rods to a stone in said 
caldwells line and thence  east with said line to the first station  mentioned 
corner including sixteen and one quarter be the some more or less together 
also with woods waters mines minerals profits privileges heridetaments and 
appurtenances  to the same belonging or in any way  manner of  ---- 
appertaining to have and  to hold  all and singular the hereby granted  
bargained piece of land and premises with each and every of the appurtenances 
unto  the said members of society and their assigns to them and their sole and 
only proper use and behoof for ever for the use and benefit of said Isaac 
Nichols and his heirs for ever  and the said Isaac Odle doth for himself and 
his heirs agree to and with the said members  them and their  assigns that  at 
and immediately before the insealing and delivery hereof  the said Isaac Odle 
is the lawful owner of the above described premises ------ proper rights as a -
----- and ab----- estate of  inheritance  in  law in fee simple and that the 
same is free and clear of and from all manner of  -------- and encumbrances 
whatsoever done or suffered to be done by the said Isaac Odle and further the 
said Isaac Odle doth by these presents  bind himself and his heirs to defend  
the said  members and their assigns in the peaceable possession of all the 
above demised premises against the just and lawful claim of all manner of 
persons whatever in witness whereof the said Isaac Odle hath hereunto set his 
hand and seal the day and year above  written
