JOHN RUSSELL TO JAMES RUSSELL

This Indenture made this third day of October eighteen hundred and four
Between John Russell County of Lee of the one part & James Russell of
Guilford County, State of North Carolina of the other part Witnesseth that
for and inconsideration of the sum of fifty pounds to me in hand paid by the
said James Russell the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained
& sold & by these presents do bargain & sell unto the said James Russell a
certain tract or parcel of Land situated lying and being in the County of
Guilford by survey one hundred Acres etc.  Poringal?  Grant of a six hundred
& forty acre tract of land granted from the State of North Carolina to
William Russell, Senior No.  1145, warranty date November 1784 Lying on the
waters of Reedy Fork Beginning at an Fron wood Robert Russell corner at the
mouth of the Still Branch Raning?  Thence west thirty poles to a Spanish Oak
thence South one hundred & thirty-eight poles to Bells Line thence on his
line East one hundred eighteen poles to Idelotts?  Line then on his line
North to Robert Russell's corner a Hickory on the bank of the Big Branch the

up the Big Branch on the meanders thereof to the Beginning being more or Less
which I John Russell will warrant & defend unto the said James Russell his
heirs and assigns forever from all person or persons whatever together with
all and singular the rights forever _?__ Hereditament ___?__ L--? =96 for all
the rights appertaining In Witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and
seal the day & year first above written.

Virginia to wit at a court held for Lee County the 23d day of October 1804. 
This Indenture of bargained 7 seal from John Russell was acknowledge in Court
by the said John Russell land ordered to be certified to the Justice of
Guilford County in the State of North Carolina in which County the said Land
Ly In Testamony whereof I Charles Carter =96 Clerk of said County have hereto
set my hand & seal this 23rd day of October 1804.
