Sheriff of the County of Guilford of the one part & William Case of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that whereas by a certain Write of Fieri Fascias of the State of North Carolina Issued Writ of the County Court of Guilford devised to the Sheriff of the County of Guilford aforesaid Bearing Test by John Hamilton Esqr. Clerk of the County Court aforesaid an d dated the third Monday in May in the year of Christ 1798 the said Sheriff was Commanded by the Write aforesaid Him to? Of the goods chattles Lands & Tenement of the Estate of Robert Russell Dec'd. He should cause to be made the sum of Thirty one pounds which Joseph Erwin in the said County Court Recovered against the said Estate for debts & also the sum of five pounds nine shillings & four pence which was adjudged for Cost of State by the said Joseph Erwin expenses have the fees due & arising to the Sheriff for Executing this said Write of Fieri Fascias hereof the said Robert Russell was convicted as appeared of Record & that the said Sheriff should have the said sums of money before the Trustees of the next County Court of Guilford to be held at the Court House of said County on the third Monday in August then next following to render tot he said Joseph Erwin his debt & Cost issued & that he should have then their said write as by the said of Fieri Fascias & Judgment thereon Recorded to now Remaining of Record with County Court of Guilford aforesaid. Reference Being there to have may more fully appear and after (4 weeks) Some Time in the month of Aug in the year of Christ 1798 and In the 23rd year of America Independence the said Abner Weatherly then being Sheriff of the said County of Guilford by Virtue of said Write of Fieri Fascias and before the Return of the same Singed on & took in execution & possession one Certain piece parcel or Tract of land lying situate & being on the waters on the North Side of the Reedy Fork of Haw River in the County of Guilford Begining at Thos. Bath corner post Oak turning Thence east one hundred & Ten poles to a Black Oak thence North Eighty eight poles to a post Oak thence west one hundred & Ten poles to a Post Oak thence North Sixteen poles to a post Oak thence North Sixteen poles to the center of Two post Oak a Black Oak & Two Hickory & thence west Sixty five poles to Wm. Gowdy's corner thence east to Still Branch thence down the meanders thereof to its Junction with Russell (ali ??) Potters Branch thence Down the Various Meanders Thereof to the line of the Tact of Land late the property of William Russell Dec'd. Thence along that line to the first Station containing one hundred and thirty one acres of Land be the same more or Less and after publick __advertising the Time & Place of deposing of the said property According tot he Directions of the Acts of Assembly in that Case Made & Provided the said Abner Weatherly being Sheriff of the County of Guilford aforesaid __ on the 15th day of August in the year of Christ ___1798 did sell the said Tract of Land at Publick Auction the said Wm. Case for the price 20 pounds Current money of North Carolina the said Wm. Case being the highest Bidder for the same Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Abner Weatherly Sheriff of the county aforesaid in Virtue of the said write of Fieri Fascias mentioned the Receipt to whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath granted Bargained & sold Released & confirmed & by these presents doth grant Bargain & sell Release & Confirmant the said Wm.
