THIS INDENTURE made this Twenty Second day of July in the year of our Lord one 
Thousand Seven hundred and eighty two Between Malachia Reeves of the County of 
Guilford & State of North Carolina of the one part and John Rhodes Junr of the 
County & State aforesaid of the Other Part - Witnesseth that the said Malachia 
Reeves for and in consideration of the Sum of fifty pounds Specia to him in 
hand Paid by the said John Rhodes Junr the receipt whereof he does hereby 
acknowledge & thereof & every part thereof does Exonerate & discharge the said 
John Rhodes Junr his heirs Exxecutors & administrators he the said Malachia 
Reeves has Granted Bargained sold aliened & confirmed & by these presents does 
grant Bargain Sell Alien & confirm unto the said John Rhodes Junr his heirs 
and assigns forever all that Piece or Parcel of Land Lying & being the said 
County of Guilford on the North side of Haw River it being part of a Tract of 
land heretofore Surveyed for the said Malachia Reeves Beginning at William 
Reeves Corner Black Oak in John Rodes (sic) Junrs line running thence along 
his line East 118 Poles to his Corner Stone thence North 153 Poles to a Post 
oak in said Malachia Reeves line thence West along his line 118 Poles to his 
Corner two Black Oaks thence South 153 Poles to the first Station containing 
in the whole one hundred & twelve & thirteen sixteenths acres of land be the 
same more or Less together with all the Buildings woods Waters water Courses & 
appurtenances Belonging or any wise appertaining to the premises hereby 
granted or intended to be granted & the reversion & reversions Remainder & 
remainders and all services Benefits and profits of the said Land & Premises 
and all the Rights claims Interests and Securities of him the said Malachia 
Reeves Relating to the same TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Land & premises unto 
the said John Rhodes Junr his heirs and assigns forever to the Only proper use 
and behoof of him the said John Rhodes Junr his heirs and assigns forever and 
the said Malachia Reeves does hereby Covenant promise and agree for himself 
and his heirs that he the said Malachia Reeves & his heirs & every of them 
Shall & will Warrant & forever defend the said Land & Premises & every part 
and article thereof with all and singular the Rights & appurtenances of him 
the said Malachia Reeves unto the said John Rhodes Junr his heirs and assigns 
forever against him the said Malachi Rieves (sic) and his heirs & every of 
them & against every other Person whomsoever IN WITNESS whereof the said 
Malachia Reeves has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal on the day and 
year first above written.
