This Indenture made & Confirmed this Seventh day of August in The year of our 
Lord Jesus Christ one thousand Eight hundred & Ten between Richard Reeves of 
the County of Wilks (sic) & State of Georgia of the one part & William Wofford 
of the County of Guilford & State of North Carolina of the other part 
Witnesseth that the Sd. Richard Reeves for and in Consideration of the Sum of 
Two hundred Dollars in hand paid the Receipt hereof he doth hereby Acknowledge 
& hereof Exonerate & acquit hath given granted Bargained Sold alined (sic) 
Enfeoffed & Confirmed and Doth by these presents give grant Bargain & Sell 
unto the Sd. William Wofford his Heirs or assigns one Third part of the Tract 
of Land whereon Richard Borton formerly Lived lying and being on the waters of 
Haw River in the County of Guilford Beginning at a Hickory & ash on the Bank 
of Sd. River in John Rhodes line running South along his line Two hundred & 
forty poles to Jeremiah Reeves corner a white Oak thence west along his line 
Two hundred and fifty poles to a white Oak thence North Crossing the H---an 
Branch Twice one hundred & forty Eight poles to a white Oak on the bank of Sd. 
River then Down the meanders of Sd. River the Land on the opposite Side 
entered by John Winchester to the first Station - as by Deed doth more fully 
appear granted unto the Sd. Richard Burton Senr. & bearing Date the 12th day 
of November 1779 Together with all wood ways waters Mines Minerals 
hereditaments & appurtenances belonging or appertaining thereunto to have & to 
hold to the Sd. Wm. Wofford his Heirs  or assigns for ever they yielding & 
paying Such Sums of money yearly or otherwise as the general assembly May from 
Time to Time Direct & the Sd. Richd Reeves his Heirs the Said Tenament (sic?)  
& premises & every part thereof against him & his Heirs or Claim thereunto to 
hold to the Sd. Wm. Wofford his Heirs or assigns for ever do warrant & Defend 
by these presents In witness whereof  the Sd. Richard Reeves hath hereunto set 
my hand affixed my Seal this the day & year first above written.
