This Indenture Made this twenty first day of February in the Year of our Lord 
one Thousand Seven hundred & Eighty Eight between Fortian (sic Fortune) Reeves 
of the County of Guilford State of North Carolina of the one part & Jesse 
Reeves of the Coiunty and State aforesd of the other part Witnesseth that the 
Sd. Fortian (sic Fortune) Reeves for & in Consideration of the Sum of Eighty 
pounds Specie to her in hand paid the receipt whereof She doth hereby 
acknowledge hath granted bargained enfeofed Sold & delivered & by these 
presents doth bargain Sell Enfeoff & deliver unto the Sd. Jesse Reeves one 
certain Track or parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the Sd. County of 
Guilford Mairs’ fork the water of Haw River beginning at a black oak Saplin 
the South East Corner of Thomas Reeves Land running East twenty Seven poles & 
an half to a Post Oak Saplen Jesse Reeves South west Corner thence North along 
Jesse & Fortian (sic Fortune) Reeves lines three hundred & twenty poles to a 
post oak in Richard Bortons Line thence West twenty Seven & a half poles to a 
post Oak Thomas Reeves North East Corner thence South along Thomas Reeves 
three hundred & twenty poles to the beginning containing in the whole fifty 
five Acres be it more or Less to gather with all ways woods waters profits 
Commodities & appurtenances thereunto belonging & the reversion & reversions 
remainder & remainders rents issues & profits thereof To have & to hold the 
Sd. Land & premises unto the Sd. Jesse Reeve his heirs & assigns forever to 
the only proper use and behoof fo the Sd. Jesse Reeves his Heirs and assigns 
forever and the Sd. Fortian (sic Fortune) Reeves doth hereby grant for herself 
& her heirs that She the Sd. Fortian (sic Fortune) Reeves & her Heirs & Every 
of them Shall & will Warrant & forever defend the Sd. Land & premises & Every 
part & article thereaof with all & Singular her rights & appurtenances unto 
the Sd. Jesse Reeves his Heirs & assigns forever against her the Sd. Fortian 
(sic Fortune) Reeves & her Heirs & every of them and against Every other 
person whomsoever In Witness whereof She the Sd. Fortian (sic Fortune) Reeves 
hath hereunto Set her hand & Seal the day & years first above Written
