Trotter of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Stack and Russell Co. for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy Dollars to them in hand paid doth Bargain sell alien and confirm until the said Jonathan D. Trotter a certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in our County of Guilford on the waters South Buffalow Reddock (Rudduck?) Creek Beginning on John Ballanger's corner running west Two Hundred and four poles to a Post oak. Thence North thirty four poles to a White Oak, thence East one hundred and eight poles to a Stone. Mt (Judgment against William Russell) Our William Russell, Jr. was deceased before Aug. 1810, I do not know which William Russell this is. I have included it in this file as many files give reference to his financial problems and refer to this document as the source. As they apparently delivered two summons or Pandilions? on him and he did not appear, however, the service of summons or pandilions? indicates he was alive. High Sheriff of the County of Guilford & State of North Carolina on the one part and Thomas Edward of the County of Guilford & State aforesaid on the other part whereas by virtue of two Pandilions? Responses Issuing from the County of Guilford against Russell for the sum of Fifty-five pounds nineteen shillings & two pence which said sum were record by Z_lock Hunt against William Russell as on Record May appear and whereas said two Pandilions & responses was Directed & Delivered by said Simeon G___n, Esq. high sheriff as assigned commanding him that of the good chattels land & tenements of the said Wm. Russell he should cause to be made the aforesaid sum of Fifty five pounds nineteen and two pence to satisfy the said Executions with the cost thereon & the said Simeon Geron? Garon? Green? As aforesaid in pursuance and by virtue of his office and the issued renditions (petitions?) Responses did seize and take Into his Hand & Custody (no goods & chattels to be found) a certain piece or parcel of land situated lying and being in the said County of Guilford bounded as follows Beginning at a host Oak Richard Dobson's corner thence west with his line one hundred poles to a Black Oak thence south one hundred & five poles to a Post Oak & Black Jack thence East one hundred poles to a Black Jack and Hickory thence North one hundred & five poles to the first station. Continuing __sealy-lines & one hundred poles & land be the same more or less & the same Simeon Green? Sheriff as assigned after due advertisement __to law did cause the R. piece or parcel of land with all appurtenances thereunto belonging to be put up at publick sale to the highest bidder on the 12th day of February in the year of our Lord 1813 at which time and place the assigned Thomas Edwards became the last and highest bidder of the sum of Fifty pound ten shillings for the said land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging This Indenture witnesseth that the same Simeon ___Sheriff of Guilford County as aforesaid in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Edwards at and before the sealing & signing of these presents The Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged he the said Simeon Geren?
