James Russell have given and Granted by these presents, do give and Grant unto the said James Russell a tract of land containing two hundred acres laying and being in our County of Guilford on the waters of B_____ Creek of Alemance Begining at Arthur Forbeses Corner a Maple at burch Creek on William Peafley? Thirty three chains & one half to a small persimmon grub on Isaiah McBride's line or the original line of said Tract thence East to the Begining Containing two hundred and fifty acres of Land Togather with all woods waters mines minerals Hereditaments & appurtenances to said Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Micaijah Hancock his Heirs and assigns for ever free and clear of all encumbrances whatsoever the sums of money yearly or otherwise as the Continental Congress or the General Assembly from the state from time to time may direct only Executed and fore seized and the said David Russell for himself his Heirs Estate Administers do further Covenant and agree to and with the said Micaijah Hancock his Heirs and assigns that he the said David Russell him his Heirs & assigns at any future time will Execute any other conveyance or conveyances that said Hancock's attorney Learned in Law may Direct for the better and firmer assurance of the above described Land and premises to the said Micaijah Hancock his heirs and assigns forever Provided always that such other conveyance shall be at the cost of him the said Hancock and shall contain other warrantee then is contained in these presents in Witness whereof he hath hereunto Set his hand and affixed his seal the day & year above written David Russell (seal) In presence of David Young & Micaijah Hancock State of North Carolina} Guilford County} May Court 1797 David Young proved the Execution of the within Deed in open Court and on Motion Ordered to be Recorded.
