F. L. SIMPSON was called to the chair, and LYNDON SWAIM appointed Secretary. After an explanation of the object of the meeting from the chair, GEN. SAMUEL A. DALTON of Rockingham was nominated as a suitable candidate for the office of Major General, which nomination was unanimously concurred in by the meeting. COL. JOHN M. LOGAN and COL. JAMES N. MILLIS, of Guilford, were then named to the meeting as candidates to fill the vacancy in the office of Brigadier- General, in case of the promotion of GEN. DALTON. The nomination of COL. LOGAN was confirmed by ballot, and he stands the nominee of the meeting. Thanks were returned to the chairman and the meeting was adjourned. F. L. SIMPSON, Chm'n.
