Reports that the enemy moved ‘across to the Hillsborough road to Guilford Courthouse. He expects them to camp at Col. [John] Peasley’s, but they may march farther to Ralph Gorrell’s. An enemy party destroyed the stores at Guilford Courthouse. Once the British leave Gorrell’s, it will be clear whether they are heading toward ‘Cross Creek, the Cheraw Hills, or Salisbury.’ Says he wrote Nathanael Greene ‘this evening’. In a postscript, reports that the British burned a house.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/guilford/military/revwar/letters/paisley74gmt.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ncfiles/ File size: 1.2 Kb
