C., in 1833 when he was 75 years of age and therefore born in 1758. He was born in Ireland and came to America when a child with his parents. They settled first in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and then removed to Guilford County, N. C., where he resided thereafter. He was drafted into the army December, 1779 or 1780. When his tour was over he volunteered under Captain Wilson. In June, 1781, he volunteered again under Captain Robert Bell and marched to join General Greene at Camden.
