All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Nancy Poquette npoq@hotmail.com March 25, 2007, 2:38 am Pension Application Of Robert Hall, Nat’l Archives Series M804, Roll ____, Application #R4492 Wake County, North Carolina, July 21, 1856} Thomas Hall, aged 54 this day personally appeared before me, Richmond Pearson, one of the judges of the Supreme Court in and for said state, who being duly sworn according to law, deposes as follows, to wit: That his deceased father, Robert Hall was a soldier in the War of the Revolution and he rendered services in said war [as he has always understood and believed from his family’s history] a considerable length of time in the state of North Carolina in the militia of said state from Guilford County, North Carolina, in which county and state he then resided, who died in Wake County, North Carolina before the date of 1832, and left his wife [this declarant’s mother] surviving of him, whose maiden name was Mary Ross, and she died on the 4th day of January 1840, and left surviving of her 8 children. One of them has since died, whose names are: Durham Hall, Susan Smith, Jen Cook, Mary Wheeler, Sarah ?Day, Elizabeth Rochel, and Thomas Hall; and he claims a pension under the Act of June 7, 1838, the amount of the pension due up to the time of his mother’s death. He declares that his said father and mother were married in Wake County, North Carolina before the date of 1794, and refers to the record of marriage annexed, 25th May 1780, and also refers to the ages of their children, the original record of the same sworn to and subscribed before me. R. M. Pearson. Signed Thomas Hall. Wake County, North Carolina, August the 18th, 1856} On this day, personally appeared before me, an acting justice of the peace in and for said county and state aforesaid, Thomas Hall, and maketh oath in due form of law, that a paper, perhaps a leaf of an old family Bible containing the birth of my father and his marriage with my mother and the ages of their children and their deaths, which was preserved by them as long as they lived and after them was preserved and kept in my possession. In whose handwriting the record was made I do not know, but ___ ____ there is no doubt, which is herewith surrendered. Sworn to and subscribed the 18th day and date above written. Thomas Hall. Robert Hall and Mary Hall was married the 25th day of May, 1780. William Hall was born November the 24th day, 1781 and Milly Hall was born the year July the 25th day, 1784 and Durram Hall October the 29th day 1786 and Susane Hall was born May the 25th day of 1789 and Jeney Hall was born July the 4th day of 1791 and Robert Hall Junior was born September the 1st day 1793 and Mary Hall was born November the 28th day, 1795 and Betzea Hall October the 10th day 1799 and Thomas Hall was born April the 26th day year 1802 and Sary Hall was born February the 14th day1805 and ditto the same [does this refer to a twin?
