He volunteered his services. He was in no battles. Marched out of North Carolina into South Carolina. Does not recollect any Continental regiments or companies. Did not march to the main army which was stationed at Camden, South Carolina. Does not recollect any of the regular officers. Has no papers. Stephen Bell and ? Bunnells Bell can testify as to the applicant’s being in the service. This applicant then ____ two ___ months tour. Was drafted, served under Colonel Moore and General Butler in the year eighty-one. Resided in Caswell, North Carolina when drafted. Does not recollect the month. Left the service at the expiration of the six months. Was in no battles. Marched from North into South Carolina. Was stationed on T__ Mill Creek. The second tour was drafted as a fatigue man. I hereby relinquish every claim whatever to a pension or m____ except the present and declare that my name is not on the pension roll of any other state. I was born in the year “fifty-three.” Have no record of my age. Was living in Guilford and Caswell Counties when called into service. Has lived in Greenville District since the Revolutionary War and lived here ever since.
