The Standard of  Raleigh, Feb. 8, 1860 
NOTICE --TAKE UP AND COMMITTED TO THE JAIL OF GUILFORD COUNTY,
on the 8thg of Dec. 1859, a negro boy aged about 22 years, dark copper color, 
five feet six inches high and weights about 144 pounds, WILSON, and was raised 
by a MR. MCRAE, near Bristol, Va. -- was sold to a trader named KLEPPER, and 
ran away from him near Petersburg -- jumping from the train.
Said boy had on when arrested a brown Kentucky Jeans coat, green check 
pantaloons, and a white wool hat. N. marks, except a scar on the left side of 
his head which  is not discernable except when his hair is pushed aside. The 
owner is requested to come forward, prove property, pay charges and take him 
away, otherwise he will be dealt with according to law.
