After the execution of a literary programme, which required perhaps three quarters of an hour, a well-trained class of several young men went through a number of exercises upon the bar and horse. Following this the class performed numerous feats of tumbling upon the mats. Refreshments were served and a neat sum was realized, which goes towards the expenses of the association. Another evening occupied by the association recently was devoted to the presentation of the subject of foreign missions. Three papers were read on different phases of the work in China. Rev. Rufus King, who has traveled widely in the mission fields, was present, and gave a happy and instructive talk on his experience in India. The local Christian Endeavor Society lately held a reception for its members and a number of invited guests. Those present report an enjoyable time spent with games, refreshments, etc. Miss Adale Craven gave her second public recital of the music students last Saturday night. The rostrum was elegantly decorated with white muslin, ivy and pot plants. Two vocal and eight piano solos were rendered, also four piano duets and songs by the chorus classes.
