Last Monday George W Parker stole a wife - Miss Hattie Andrew. To get a license he had to swear she was 18. On the same night the bride's parents took forcible possession of her and carried her off. Yesterday her father, W R Andrew, indicted Parker for perjury. He was tried before Squire Eckle yesterday afternoon and sent on to court, her parents showing she is only about 16. Then the old folks took the young bride away in a carriage, while Parker went to look for a bondsman, which he found, and was released. Colonel Staples, his lawyer, says he will sue out a writ of habeas corpus for the bride.
