Deaths: Died, on the seventeenth day of the second month Judith Russell, formerly of Nantucket, and widow of Timothy Russell, aged 79 years 11 months and 7 days. March 27, 1833 Marriages: In this county, on the 14th inst., by the Rev. William D. Paisley, Abner Weatherly to Mrs. Elizabeth Fleming, all of this county. In this county, on Thursday night last, by the Rev. Eli W. Caruthers, Robert Wharton, to Miss Malinda Nelson, all of this county. In Drowning Creek Swamp, Moore County, on the 7th inst., by Malcom Blue, Esq., Daniel D. Patterson, Esq., measuring 4 feet 10 inches in height, to Miss Mary McFarland, measuring 6 feet 4 inches, both of Richmond County. Deaths: In Rockingham county, on the 12th inst., Mrs. Sarah Wright, consort of Martin Wright, Esq., aged 54 years. She has left a husband and nine children to deplore their irreparable loss: But her friends have reason to console themselves with the hope that their loss is her eternal gain. She was a member and shining ornament in the Baptist church, and died with the fortitude and resignation of a pious Christian. In Milton, on the 10th inst., Miss Cornelia Nunally, aged 47 years. In the same place, on the 15th inst., Samuel, infant son of Samuel Shelton. April 3, 1833 Fatal Accident: We are informed (says the Rutherford Spectator) that Miss Martha Young, aged about 17, daughter of John Yount, Esq., Buncombe County, was drowned in Swannana River, on the 22 ult. April 17, 1833 Marriages: In Mecklenburg, on the 28th ult., Calvin G. Alexander to Miss Nancy Kirk. On the 5th inst., Wilson Oliver to Miss Sarah Waller. At Hokesville, Lincoln county, on the 2nd inst., William Abernathy, Esq., to Miss Barbara Reinhardt. Deaths: At Wilmington, in this state, on the 2nd inst., of paralysis, after six days illness, Henry S. Ellenwood, Esq., editor of the Wilmington Advertiser, aged about 40 years. In Orange county, a short time since, David Ray. On the 18th ult., at his residence on Haw River, Captain Richard Christmas, aged 81. In Orange county, on Wednesday the 16th instant, after an illness of several months, Major General Jehu Bird, aged about forth two years. General Bird was an officer during the late war with Great Britain and was at the time of his death, major general of this division.
