Deaths: Died in this county, on the 22nd ult., Mr. J. Clemmons, aged about 61 years. January 21, 1835 Marriages: Married in this place, on Tuesday evening last., Nathan Hiatt, to Mrs. Mary W. Short, widow of Jonathan Short, and daughter of Henson Humpreys. In Stokes county on the 18th ult., Jesse Conrad to Miss Nancy Leinback. On the same day, Mr. Samuel Styers, to Miss Martha Wall. On the 18th ult., in Surry county, William Jackson to Miss Zilly Gorden. In Stokes on the 1st inst., Clisby Robeson, Esq., to Salome Snyder. On the same day, in Stokes, John Scott to Miss Mary Sprinkle. On the 6th inst., in Stokes Reuben T. Vawtin to Miss Harriet Transu. Deaths: Died in this county on Saturday night last, Capt. Deaths: Died in Orange county, on Monday the 9th inst., Dr. William Houston, son of Levi Houston, near this place. In Chatham county, on the 19th ult., James Overman, aged about seven years. In Randolph county, on the 22nd ult., Nathan Pichet, leaving a widow and seven children to lament their bereavement. March 25, 1835 Marriages: In this place on last evening, by the Rev. Eli W. Caruthers, Jesse Stephens, to Miss Matilda Chapman, all of this place. April 1, 1835 Deaths: Died at his residence, near Jamestown, in this county, one the 25th inst., Capt. William Riley, aged 76 years-he was a revolutionary pensioner. At his residence in Moore county, on the 13th January last, Col. Archibald McDougald, in the 65th year of his age. April 11, 1835 Marriages: Married at Salisbury, on the 9th ult., Mr. Robert Newton Craige to Miss Mary Howard. In Mecklenburg county, on the 12th ult., by John King, Esq., Mr. John H. Reed to Miss Elizabeth Williams. In Mecklenburg county, on the 19th ult., by the same, Mr. Joseph Hipp to Miss Esther Beaty. In Washington City, on the 19th by the Rev. Obadiah B. Brown, the Hon. Jesse A. Bynam, of N. C. to Miss Mariah, daughter of the late Oliver Fansten, Esq., of Virginia. Deaths: Died in Hillsborough, on the 27th of last month, Abner B. Bruce, Esq., late Clerk of the Superior Court of Orange county. In Chapel Hill, on the 29th, Thomas D. Watts, Esq., late sheriff for Orange. In Stokes county, on the 29th ult., Abraham Redman, aged 73 years. In Rowan county, on the 25th Mr. Philip Miller, in the 76th year of his age. He was a soldier in the Revolution. On the 30th ult., Mrs. Sabina Miller, aged 70 years, relict of Philip Miller, whose death has just been recorded. May 13, 1835 Marriages: Married in Rockingham county, on the 30th ult., by the Rev. May 23, 1835 Deaths: Died in Rockingham county on the 16th inst., of Climacterics Maramus, James Patrick, Sen. in the 74th year of his age. On the 19th inst., in the same county, Mrs. Nancy Patrick, wife of the said James Patrick, aged about 65 years. May 30, 1835 Marriages: Married on the 13th inst., Mr. Joseph B. Stegall of Milton, NC to Miss Eliza Ann Simpson of Pittsylvania county, Va. At Chapel Hill, 14th inst., Mr. Robert J. Hardy of Fayetteville, to Miss Ann Ferguson, of the former place. In Rowan, on the 5th inst., Mr. Henry Graves, to Miss Mary Foster. Deaths: In Raleigh, 12th inst., Weston Gales, infant son of the junior editor of the Register. In Wake county, 14th inst., Miss Catherine Jane Brown daughter of the late William Brown. In Iredell, 13th ult., Shadrach Alley, aged 84-soldier of the Revolution. Suddenly on the 19th ult., in Macon, N. Carolina, N. W. W. Kerr, atto. at law, and formerly a resident at Danville, Va. In Rutherford county, on the 3rd inst., William Graham, aged 94 years. June 27, 1835 Deaths: Died suddenly at Havana, on the 23 of May, commodore John D. Healy, commander of the U. S. Navel forces in the West Indies. Departed this life near this place, on the 11th of May last, Miss Nelly Miner. July 4, 1835 Deaths: Died in Stokes County, on Friday the 26th ult., after a short illness, Carter Peyton, infant son of the Hon. A. H. Shepperd, aged one year and eleven months.
