Caldwell had died. However, he had not as shown below: Mon., Sept. 15, 1806, Raleigh Minerva DIED, a few days since in Guilford County, aged upwards of 80 years, the REV. DAVID CALDWELL. He had been for nearly 40 years a teacher of the higher branches of education in the Guilford Academy. To enumerate the services of this venerable and pious man would be impossible – the fruits of his labors speak for him in very part of the State. Tues. Sept. 30, 1806, Wilmington Gazette DIED, lately in Guilford County, aged upward of 80 years, the REV. DAVID CALDWELL. He had been for 50 years, a teacher of the higher branches of education to the Guilford Academy. Tues. Oct. 14, 1806, Wilmington Gazette Raleigh, Oct. 6 – The Account of the death of the REV. DAVID CALDWELL of Guilford in our Register of the 21st ult., copied from the Minerva of the preceding week, we are happy to learn was premature. MR. CALDWELL has been very sick, but is now on the recovery.
