Greensboro Workman: Our friend and neighbor, Col. John C. Tipton, editor of 
the Patriot, was married last evening at 6 o'clock in Salisbury at the 
residence of the bride's father, Capt. J.K. Burke, to Miss J. Josie Burke, one 
of Salisbury's very highly esteemed young ladies. The marriage ceremony was 
performed by Rev. J. Rumple, D.D.
