I Margaret Green, of the county of Guilford and state of North Carolina being in decline of life and calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die I do make and ordain this my last will and testament revoking all others. My soul I recommend into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to the earth to be entered in deacent Christian manner nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give demise and despose of the same in manner and form as follows [illegible symbol] All my just debts which may exist at the time of my deceas are to be paid as speedily as circumstances will permit. First I give and bequeath to my well beloved son JD Green Jane and Margaret Green the tract of land that I now live on at or after my deceas. My will and meaning is that my two daughters shall live in peasible p---? on the above named land and in the mansion house of the same so long as they remain single and at there death or marriage to belong to my son JD Green also one bay horse Charley that I bought from Hyrum Cobb. Also one bad cow Cherry one heifer one bed and furniture one bedsted also forty nine dollars to be raised out of my estate. Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Jane Green one bay mane Colt named tri-? also one white fast cow one heifer one bed and furniture one bedsted also four hundred and forty eight dollars to be raised out of my estate. Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Margaret Green one K--? horse Kalle? one white cow Pink one heifer one bed and furniture one bedsted also three hundred and seventy three dollars to be raised out of my estate. Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved son William Green 100 acres of land lying on the stage road leading from the high rock to Greensboro which is broken by the Heath track to make him equal with my other two sons as respect there building and after all my just debts is paid and the above named legacy paid of the ballence o fmy estate I wish to be equaly divided amongst all my dear children. I have in testamony of the foregoing instrument of writing being my last will and testament herento set my hand and seal the 18th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine. her Margaret (X) Green (seal) mark Signed Sealed and pronounced by the said Margaret Green to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who in te presence of each other have herento set our _?_ as witnesses.
