Strong ylstrong95@gmail.com March 3, 2015, 1:11 am Source: N C Archives Written: December 27, 1800 Recorded: August 1805 “In the name of God amen the 27th day of December the 27th day Ammo Domini Eighteen Hundred I Lewis Hotten Being in a Reasonable degree of helth and Sound mind and Memory and [line through and] Calling to mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for men to die do make and ordain this my Last will and testament viz first of all I Give and Recommend my soul to God and my Body to the Earth to be Buried in a dessent Christian manner at the Discression of my Executor nothing doubting But that I shall Receive the same again by the mighty Power of God as Touching the worldly Estate which it hath pleassd God to bless me with in this life I give Demisse? and disposse of the Same in the following manner and form. Impremies first mi [my] will and Dessire is that my Lawful Debts and funeral charges be fully paid and Sattisfied Item I give and bequeath to my Gran Son Lewis Rannolds the sum of Twelve Dollers and one half Doller to Him or his heirs Item my will and Dessire is that a Competent part of my Estate or as much as shall be found Ne [line through] Necessary shall be Expended for the Support of my Da[au]hter Dinah Hotten to the persson or perssons who Shall Support her during life Item I give and bequeath to my Trusty friend John Coe Senr the full and Just Sum of Ten pounds to him and his heirs Item I give and Bequeath to my three Daughters Viz Dolly Cesseney and Nancy Rannold and Rachel Bartley and to my Grand Daughter hannah Hotton Allias Coe all the Remaining part of my personal Estate to be Equally Divided amongut [amongst] them theirs heirs or assigns Item I make and ordain Nominate and appoint my Loving friend John Coe Senr my whole and sole Executors of this my Last will and Testament Rattif[?]ing and Confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament in witness Whereof the year first above written Signed Sealed Acknowledged by the said Lewis Hotton to be his Last Will and Testament in pressents of us”.
