GUILFORD COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Robert Neely, 6 Jul 1787 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- In the Name of God, Amen. I Robert Neeley of Gilford County in the state of north carroliner Being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die Do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament first I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my Body I recomment to the eart to be buried in a decent Christain manner at the discresion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God and as touching such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose off in the following maner and form Viz- -- Imprimus. My desire first is that all my just debts and funeral charges be fully paid and satisfied and that as much money be laid out of my Estate as will will percure headstones for the graves of my father and mother and brother who are buried at the allimance meeting house. Item I give and bequeath to my loving wife Marthy Neeley one Bay mare and colt and the yong Bald Eagle mare and one Bed and furniture and hir sadle and bridle and Two cows and Calves and all my stock of hogs and all the shelf furniture except such as shall be hear after divided to my daughter and all my pot mettle except one pot and also all the crop that is or shall be raised on my Plantation this year and I also give to my said wife the use of my plantation during her natural life or widowhood and one plow and one hoe unto hur or hier heirs or assigns. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Nelley one one hundred acres of land joining the pat that I sauld to John C__in _ square down the East side and south line of my land to hir and hir heirs and assigns and also Six new putere [pewter] plates and the largest puter dish and one pot holding about three gallons to her and her heirs and assigns and one Black walnut chest & 1 bible. Item I give and bequeath to my son James Neeley all the remaining part of my land that is not sold laying on the head waters of the allemance containing three hundred and twenty acres to him his heirs or assigns and in case Watson Wharten should get a Negro for me from Maryland and my Executor should get him then the said Negro I give to my aforesaid son James Nelley and also all my wareing apparel and one desk and my saddle and bridle all my working tooles and the remaing part of my farming utensils. To him his heirs and assigns and also my Large Bible and this rest of my Books. Item my will and desire is that my Executors shall layout as much money of my estate as shall purchas metarials and pay workmen to build the house that is begun and make it fit to dwell in. Item I give and bequeath to my two children viz James Neelly and Elizabeth Neeley all the remaing part of my Estate including the ballence of money due from John Coe after a just settlemin [settlement], the other part consisting of perishable articles my desire is that they should be sould and the money arising from such sail after complying with every paragraft of this will to be aforesaid to my son & daughter aforesaid equally to be divided between them or their heirs or assigns. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth one Bed & furniture not to reckoned as a part before bequeath. Item I make ordain nominate and appoint my loveing wife Martha Neelley & William Dickey and Thomas Jones my whole and sole executors of this my last will and Testament and I doe hearby revoke renounce disallow and disannul all and every other will or wills executor or Executors Rattifiing and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
