Stanley State of North Carolina Guilford County Know all men by these presents, That I Milton M. Stanley of said State and County hereby appoint John L, Stanley to act as administrator of my estate as follows, Viz. When my mining land, (lying south of of my dwelling house, Known as the mining property of D.F. Caldwell and Milton M. Stanley containing 25 acres) is sold $300.00 Three hundred dollars is to be paid D.F. Caldwell, and $100.00 One hundred dollars is to be paid Daniel Worth, and of the remainder, pay Jenny L. Paschal $30.00 Thirty dollars + pay Mattie A. Edmondson $20.00 Twenty dollars, and pay Victoria E. Dobson $15.00 Fifteen dollars and pay Mary E. Dobson $15.00 Fifteen dollars and with the remainder of the money, the said John L. Stanley is to defray my burial expenses, + to pay mortgage that at present encumbers the ballance of my land - The Mortgage held by Milton Clark, Westfield, Hamilton County, Indiana, and still with the remainder of the money pay Lee S. Smith $13.65 Thirteen dollars and Sixty five cents for store bill - And if my mining land on north side of my dweling house, adjoining Wm M. Harvey, A.B. Dobson and others, containing 10 acres is sold, one half of the money goes to my wife Mary E. Stanley, and one half to John L, Stanley And I hereby will and bequeath the home place to my son John L. Stanley, beginning at a little post oak at the old gate place on the New Garden road and running west by a big Hickory tree to Mattie A. Edmondson's line including all the land lying south of the above line. And the balance of my land, north of the above said line, is to be sold, and the proceeds there from to be equally divided among the Surviving heirs. [signed] M.M. Stanley [witnessed] P.W.
