In the Name of God Amen I William Rufsell (backward fs = ss =Russell) of the County of Guilford & State of North Carolina. Being Very Sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God. Calling to mind the mortallity of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die I do make and ordain this my Last will & testament that is to say principlly and first of all I live and recommend My Soul into the hand of almighty God, that give it and my body I Recommend tot he earth to be buried in a Decent burial at the Descretion of My Executors, Nothing Doubting but at the Great Resrection I shall Revive the same again by the Might Power of God and as for my worldly Estate wherewith God hath blest me with in this life I give Demises & Desposes of the same in the following manner & form__ Viz: I will that all my just debts be paid ---- I Give and Bequeath to Margaret my Dearly belove wife fifty Acres of Land including the Dwelling house where I now Live Enduring her life or widowhood- Item,- I give to my well beloved wife Margaret one feather bed & furniture Item,- I give to my well beloved Daughter Susanna Rofs (Ross) five Shillings North Carolina Currency Item,- I give to my well beloved Daughter Sarah Chilcutt five Shillings North Carolina Currency Item,- I give to my well beloved Daughter Margarat Dilworth five Shillings Current money -------- Item,- I give to my well beloved Daughter Martha Donnell five Shillings Current money----------- Item,- I give to my well beloved Daughter Nancy one feather bed & furniture------------------------- Item,- I will that my lands be equally divided amongst my three sons Robert William and Jefse (Jesse) Rufsell (Russell) Item,- I will that the Balance of my Estate be Equally Divided Between My Dearly Beloved wife Margaret & my Daughters Lucretia & Nancy & my three sons Robert William and Jefse Rufsell (Jesse Russell) I leave constitutes and appoint my trust friend Thomas Rofs (Ross) and my beloved wife, Margaret Rupsell (Russell) Executors of this my Last will & testament & I Do hereby Disanull all & every other testament, wills, Bequeaths & Executions in anywise before made Whereas I confirm this & no other to be my Last will & testament in Witnefs (Witness) whereof I have s__ unto set my hand and seal this twenty-first Day of August one thousand Eight hundred and ten- Signed Sealed and Delivered by the said William Rufsell (Russell) in the presence of each of us the Subscribing Witnefses (Witnesses) Viz I Also wil that thare Be a resonable alowins of provision given to my wife & family for one year Witnefs Prefent (Witnesses present) Howel Parker William Rufs *seal James Rofs (Ross), Jurate Obviously very weak could barely write his name Next page William Rufsell Last Will & Teftament William Russell Will Eut A page 322 - 3 Nov. 1810 Next page State of North Carolina Guilford County November Term 1810 The Execution of the written last will and Testament of William Rupsell (Russell) dec'D was proven in open court by the Oath of James Rofs (Ross) one of the Subscribing thereto and a motion ordered to the Records.
